Tashkent – Kokand – Rishtan – Fergana

Come out of the terminal and meet the driver and guide, who will be waiting for you with a tablet "ANUR TOUR".

Kokand (mentioned as Khavakand or Kokan, derived from a tribal name) is an ancient city that, due to its favorable location, was one of the convenient fortified points of caravan routes on the Great Silk Road.

Nowadays, Kokand is a modern town at the crossroads of Tashkent, Fergana Valley, and Andijan, and the other route to Khujand (Tajikistan), and is considered one of the most important pre-border points.

Start a sightseeing tour around Kokand, visiting :

- Khudoyar-Khan Palace of the 19th century is listed in the World Heritage of UNESCO and, at present, houses the Kokand Regional History Museum, which exhibits a unique collection of more than 3000 artifacts from ancient, khanate, and tsarist periods of the region.

- Norbut-Biy Madrassah, the largest madrassa in Kokand. The madrassa was built in the 18th century by captured architects as well as the famous Bukharian architect Usto Muhammed Salih Kasim, so the design and construction are quite typical of some monuments of the 18th century in Bukhara.

- Modari Khan Mausoleum (Modari-Khan means Mother of Khan) was built in 1825 by order of the widow of Umarkhan, famous poetess Nodira, to honor the tomb of her mother-in-law. Since then, the mausoleum became the family mausoleum where most of the female members of the Khan family were buried.

- Rishton (50 km west of Fergana) is famous all over the world for its pottery that is decorated according to the ancient tradition that is more than 800 years old. Masters hand down their trade secrets from father to son. The unique red clay ceramic masterpieces are decorated with naturally made ultramarine, turquoise, and azure ornaments known as blue glaze "ishkor",

- Workshop of the famous potter Rustam Umarov, where visitors are welcome to observe the finest Rishtan ceramics in wonderful handmade and painted tea sets, lagans, and beautifully decorated jugs and vases.

Transfer to Fergana.

Fergana – Margilan – Tashkent

09:00 Meet the guide at the lobby. Continue sightseeing in the Fergana Valley:

- Fergana is a relatively young city that was founded as a strategic fortified point in Turkestan in 1876 during the tsarist period of the region. The town was initially called New Margilan and, later, in the Soviet period, renamed as Fergona in 1924. Nowadays, Fergana is a flourishing, beautiful town, and despite its young history, it has become the central point of the Fergana Valley.

- Visit Ahmad Al-Fargoni monumental complex;

- Continue to Margilan. Margilan (“Marg” from Persian green grass, “lon”- “place“) was an inhabited settlement in the Fergana Valley since the 4th–3rd centuries BC. The town was well known for its crafts and finest silk fabrics from the Great Silk Road period up to now.

- Said-Ahmad Hodji Madrassah, where craftsmen produce original silk carpets,

- Silk factory Yodgorlik, where visitors are welcome to observe the process of silk manufacture with traditional decoration “ikat”.

Tashkent – Nukus – Aral Sea

Transfer to the Aral Sea lakeshore with sightseeing and photo stops en route.

The Aral Sea is the former fourth-largest lake in the world, bordering Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. In the 1960s, the construction of melioration canals for cotton irrigation from the Amu Darya River began, and the Aral Sea began to shallow. The area of the Aral Sea is rapidly decreasing; towns and villages that were once the seaports are now far away from the present shoreline.

The same is true with Muynak, once located on the shore of the Aral Sea; now it is separated from the sea by 200 kilometers.

day 5

Aral Sea – Muynak – Nukus

Camp-style breakfast.

09:00 Transfer to Muynak via the beautiful Red Canyons with the beautiful and unusual Martian landscape. Arrival in Muynak city, which used to be one of the richest cities in the delta of the Amu-Darya, ”the gates to Uzbekistan from the sea”. Nowadays, there is only the cemetery of the Aral Sea.

- Visit the Mizdakhan necropolis on the way back to Nukus (about 20 km from Nukus), an ancient cemetery located next to the remains of the Gyaur-Kala fortress (4th-3rd century BC).

- Gaur Kala (translated as the fortress of pagans) was a Zoroastrian town with the citadel, the fire altar, and a large cemetery nearby. Even after the Arab invasion and Islamic expansion, the town was inhabited until the 14th century, and people continued to bury their relatives in Mizdakhan as they believed the place was sacred.

Arrival in Nukus.

Nukus – Ayaz Kala – Khiva

09:00 Meet the driver in the lobby.

- Visit the Savitsky Museum, exhibiting a unique collection of antiques from Khorezm and Karakalpak, Uzbek fine arts, and the second-largest collection of Russian avant-garde works after the Russian Museum in Saint Petersburg.

The founder of the museum, Igor Savitsky, devoted his life to collecting, piece by piece, the finest works of modern Uzbek artists and Russian avant-gardists. In the 70s, it was quite risky to become an anti-Soviet propagandist. During perestroika and the first years since Uzbekistan's independence, the museum earned world recognition and rightfully deserved the must-see site status in Central Asia.

Transfer to Khiva (180 km, ~ 3,5 hours) en route with photo stops.

- Ayaz-Kala and Toprak-Kala, the fortresses of the Kushan period of Ancient Khorezm, used to be mighty border forts protecting the residents from raids of nomadic tribes. The forts were built in the 4th-7th centuries BCE, during the ages when Khorezm achieved its independence. The fortresses are located on the hills quite close to each other, and visitors are welcome to take a short overview tour of the monumental forts that are currently drowning in sand.

Khiva

09:00 Meet the guide in the lobby. Start the walking excursion in the historical part of Khiva – Ichan-Kala (translated as “Inner Town”) - the largest Museum in the open air in Central Asia :

- Ata-Darvaza, Kunya- Ark;

- Madrassah of Muhammad Rahim Khan;

- Madrassah of Muhammad Aminhan;

- Kalta Minor, the Palace of the Allakulihan Khan of Khiva;

- Tash Hauli, where the harem of 40 concubines was;

- Caravanserai and Tim Allakulihan;

- Mausoleum of Seyd Allaudin,

- Islam-Khoja Madrassah - was built in 1908 by Islam-Khoja, the prime minister of the Khan. The minaret is a symbol of the country and is an early example of the architecture of the 14th century.

- Mosque and Jami Minaret.

Khiva – Bukhara

07:10 Departure for Bukhara by high-speed train ”Jaloliddin Manguberdi”.

10:38 Arrival at Bukhara Airport. Come out of the terminal to meet the driver. Transfer to the hotel to drop off the bags. Standard check-in after 14:00.

11:00 Meet the guide in the lobby. Start a walking tour in Bukhara (4-5 hr):

- Ensemble Lyabi Hauz (Nadir Divanbegi Madrassa, Khanaka, Kukeldash Madrassa and the monument of Khodja Nasreddin);

- Magoki Attari Mosque is one of the oldest mosques in Bukhara;

- Abdullakhan’s Tim with numerous handicraft shops of souvenirs, ceramics, national clothes, and carpets;

- Caravanserai Sayfuddin (the Center of Handicraft Development of Bukhara);

- There are three trading domes, or so-called covered bazaars: Toki Sarrofon, Toki Telpak Furushon, and Toki Zargaron, preserved from the XVI century, and these bazaars were the centers for trade of silk, jewelry, and money exchange.

- Ulugbek and Abdulazizkhan Madrassas, or so-called Kosh (pare) madrassas, opposite each other with the distinctive style of facade ornamental decoration;

- Poi Kalon Square with Kalon Minaret and Mosque, Mir Arab Madrassa – the heart of Bukhara, a monumental complex that impresses the imagination;

Bukhara – Samarkand

- Samanids mausoleum (IX century), a monument of early medieval architecture.

- Sitora-I – Mohi Khosa – the last Emir's summer residence.

14:40 Transfer to the Bukhara railway station.

18:05 Arrival in Samarkand.

Samarkand

09:00 Start sightseeing program in Samarkand (5 hrs):

- Gur Emir Mausoleum – the burial vault of Timur the Great and his descendants, decorated with gold ornaments, considered one of the world's most significant places;

- famous Registan Square – the heart of Samarkand, the complex consists of three grandiose buildings: Ulughbek Madrassa, Madrassa Sherdor, and Madrassa Tilla Kori.

- Bibi Khanim Mosque – the biggest medieval building in the city, which was one of the most magnificent mosques in the Islamic world in the 15th Century.

Samarkand – Tashkent

09:00 Continue the sightseeing tour in Samarkand (6 hours), visiting:

- Shahi Zinda Necropolis – a unique complex of mausoleums formed by standing on both sides of the cenotaph (an imaginary grave) belonging to the Muslim person named Saint Abbas ibn Kussam;

- Mausoleum of Khoji Doniyor, also known as Saint Daniel. Khoja Donier is considered a patron saint of Samarkand; people believe that a visit to the mausoleum can bring health and success; many visitors come here to make wishes near the almond tree. A holy spring is located at the foot of the hill of the mausoleum; people claim the water has healing and miraculous properties;

- Paper factory "Meros” in Konigil village that produces a unique paper that can be preserved for more than and is used in craftworks;

16:30 Transfer to the railway station in Samarkand.

17:28 Departure for Tashkent by train "Afrosiyob"/ "Sharq".

19:44 Arrival in Tashkent.

09:00 Meet the guide in the lobby. Start a sightseeing tour of Tashkent (5 hrs):

- Amir Timur Square, founded in 1882 and originally called Konstantinovsky Square, was renamed on August 31, 1994, after Amir Timur to honor the cultural and historical contribution of the great conqueror.

- Theater Square with the Opera House: The State Academic Theater of Uzbekistan named after Alisher Navoi, built in 1947, is one of the best opera theaters in the world that performs both classical and national repertoires.

- Independence Square, the main square of Uzbekistan, reflects the past, present, and future of the country. Fountains stand for the life energy of Uzbek people, the Cabinet and the Senate, and the “Eternal Flame" in honor of soldiers who died during the Second World War.
- Earthquake Memorial, the composition is devoted to the tragic date of the earthquake in Tashkent on April 26, 1966, and is erected in the approximate place of the earthquake epicenter. Residents still come to the monument to honor those people who took part in the reconstruction of Tashkent.

- Khast Imam Square – a religious center of the city consisting of the Barakkhan madrasah and Kaffal Shashi Mausoleum.

- Chorsu Bazaar – the ancient bazaar of Tashkent. “Chorsu” means “four water”, symbolically meaning the conjunction of four major parts of the old city in the bazaar where people come for trade. The bazaar's beautiful blue dome, built in traditional style after the Tashkent earthquake, is often depicted in postcards and international magazines and became one of the major sights of interest both for locals and guests – one can see the oriental tiled bazaar from different souvenir shops with ceramics, handicraft works, carpets, and jewelry, the whole pavilion full of delicious fruits to the finest textiles and colorful fabrics.

- Tashkent Metro (the first line was launched in 1977) with beautiful train stations, each decorated in a thematic style with traditional ornaments and special lighting.

Tashkent – Chimgan – Tashkent

Countryside sightseeing in Tashkent: please choose one of the options below (guide and transport services are included for 5- 6 hrs). Because the program today can be flexible, the entrance fees today are not included; tourists can buy the entrance tickets at the ticket offices on their own.

Opt 1. Chimgan Tour

10:00 Meet the driver and guide at the hotel. Transfer to the Chimgan Mountains area, 120 km from Tashkent, about 1,5 –2 hrs one way.

- Amirsoy cableway ride. Entrance fees to the Amirsoy complex/ Amirsoy cableway are not included; visitors can buy entrance tickets at the ticket offices of Amirsoy.

- Take a photo stop with panoramic views of Charvak Lake and Chimgan Mountains.

After lunch in the local café in the place called Bochka, transfer back to Tashkent. Arrival in Tashkent (ETA by 17:00).

Opt 2. Sun Institute and Uzumfermer.

09:30 Meet the guide and driver. Transfer to Parkent (45 km, ~1 hour on the way)

- The Big Solar Furnace- the heliotechnical complex is one of the two largest solar structures in the world. Due to its ideal location, Parkent Solar Furnace has a number of advantages that contribute to the accumulation of environmentally friendly solar energy.

The visitors can participate in simple experiments and watch the work of solar panels - heliostats, compare electronic and sundials, boil water, and learn how to light the Olympic flame.

- Winery Uzumfermer (excursion around the winery and wine tasting of local wines. Entrance fees are to be paid at the winery ticket office).

Transfer to Tashkent (1 hour). Transfer to the hotel.

-The tour is published on September 21, 2026 and the rates as per program and conditions specified are actual for 180 days ( 6 month) from the date of publication.

All the rates will be subject to change if the request is after 180 days from date of publication because any changes in the seasonal tariffs for hotels, air/train ticket prices, tax increase, and exchange rate fluctuation may cause the increase of rates.

- By request, the itineraries can be adjusted for solo traveller or family private tours, please note the tariffs for individual/ private tours may be higher than in group offers.

- If the hotels noted in the program are fully booked or not available for the dates in case of stop-sale dates/ temporary reconstruction works, booked for government delegation, etc.. Tour company reserves the right to book the other hotels of the same category and similar service in case of last-minute booking due to restricted time and high season intensity.

- We highly recommend early booking of Central Asia group tours, family tours about 9- 6 months before the tour dates, and not later than 3 months before the tour dates.

Please note, in case of late booking less than 3 month ahead and last-minute booking less than 10 days ahead the trip it is possible that the itineraries can be changed because of restricted time and high season availability of the hotels and train tickets for the date of booking/ for travel dates.

- Yurt camps, guesthouses, and homestays offer traditional meals; there are quite basic toilet and shower conditions. Single accommodation in the guesthouses, yurts and homestays is not guaranteed and will be subject of availability.

- Please note the international flights Tashkent – Bishkek/ Bishkek - Tashkent, Tashkent – Almaty/ Almaty - Tashkent, Almaty - Dushanbe/ Dushanbe – Almaty are regular flights but can be scheduled not every day, the program can be slightly adjusted as per actual flight details.

- Please confirm your return flights and provide full information ( flight details, passport copies and if required, other documents for visa support) to book the tours. We highly recommend acknowledging the necessary documentation before the trip: valid passport with expiration not later than 6-month, visa / e-visa/ LOI.

- Travel/ medical insurance is not included in the tour packages as it is not obligatory, but we highly recommend all tourists buying the travel/medical insurance in the country of residence.

- Please note that during the national holidays, during the big summits, fairs, festivals, major sport and cultural events, some parts of the roads can be temporarily blocked for delegations and events as per government decrees.
