Museum of Applied Art and Life

 

Museum of Applied Art and Life is situated in Kazy Kalya madrasah in Khiva. It was built in the beginning of XX century. Visitors of the museum can get acquainted with the works of craftsmen of XVIII-XIX centuries, as well as some samples of XX century. There is a unique collection of art, jewelry, wood carving, stone carving, ceramics, carpet weaving and various household items.

  The exposition of the museum of Applied Art and Life was begun to replenish in the middle of XIX century. The great attention was paid to handicrafts, household items, household stuff and ancient coins. The collection of the museum was interesting for fans of ancient items, which was shown in different cities.  

  The distinctive feature of Khiva is the location of museums in ancient historical buildings, which allows having not only informative tour but also do real time travel. Museum of Applied Art and Life in Khiva is one of the interesting museums in the whole Uzbekistan.
