According to the Russian service of online reservation Oktogo.ru, Tashkent was in the top 10 cities in the CIS the preferences of Russians in 2013.
Among the favorite places for tourists visiting the portal calls the "old town" (" Eski Shahar "). Popular places of worship are: Kukeldash Madrasah, Abdul Kasim – Eshon Madrasah, Hast-Imam Ensemble, as well as Kaffali-Shash Mausoleum. There are also new attractions: Timurid State Museum and the Museum of Art of Uzbekistan. The square and park of Amir Timur with the statue of Tamerlane, Independence Square and memorial complex are popular places among the tourists. A special attention is paid to oriental bazaars, the main of them is Chorsu bazaar.
