According to the research from the system of online-reservation Oktogo.ru, Tashkent is the most popular city of the CIS for Russian tourists in 2015. This information was based on data of hotel booking by Russian tourists.
In 2015 Russians are traveling 5 days on average in CIS countries. The most popular destination is Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Moldova, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. The most popular city is Minsk, Baku, Almaty, Yerevan, Astana, Vitebsk, Tashkent (8th place), Brest and Lviv.
The most expensive city in the CIS is Astana. On average one night in hotel costs $138 per one person. The most budget city is Vitebsk – the hotel cost is $61 on average. Of late years the number of tourist trips to the CIS countries, completely booked over the Internet, increased by about 1.5 times.
