A unique tunnel was found on the territory of ancient settlement Akhsikent (Turakurgan district of Namangan region). The diameter of tunnel is 90 centimeters – there’re also installed ceramic pipes for running water inside the tunnel. Water was coming from the river Kasansay.
During excavations brick manholes was also found. They were used for water supply controlling. Such kind of irrigation network is unique for that time, and it’s more than 300 years.
Akhsikent was considered a big and very beautiful city. Many merchants followed along the Silk Road visited this city for buying goods. During excavations parts of the forge, swords, daggers and crockery were also found.
