Unique petroglyphs were found in Samarkand.

  More than 1000 petroglyphs were found on the territory Kuruksay gorge in Samarkand. At the moment, the exact date of patterns origin does not exist. However, here you can see images of argali, wild horses, wolves, foxes, camels.

  There are also images of the scenes where archers poison beast, using tame dogs. It is noteworthy that local people of that period used natural mineral colors, for example, red ocher. There are more than 150 sites with petroglyphs dating to the period of the Mesolithic and Late Middle Ages. The most famous works of ancient artists are located in Sarmysh gorge in Navoi region.
