International festival “Silk and Spices” in Bukhara

The 12th annual International Festival "Silk and Spices" was held in June, 8 – 10 in Bukhara. The craftsmen from Tashkent, Samarkand, Fergana as well as from neighboring countries such as Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan took part in the festival.
During the festival, the participants could learn more about craft art of Uzbekistan, and taste Bukhara sweets. The guests of the festival had a great opportunity to take the direct part in the parade.
Within the framework of the festival there was the performance of folk ensembles, national artists and local people. The parade passed through the historical trade dome "Toki Zargoron" and the architectural ensemble "Lyabi Hauz."
The fair of spices and silk products was organized on the territory of Toki Zargoron and Kukeldash madrassah. Also, there was an exhibition of national dishes in Nodir Devonbegi madrassah, where the guests of the city could enjoy Bukhara cuisine.
The festival "Silk and Spices" was organized by the khokimiyat (government) of the region, with the assistance of the Bukhara regional branch of “Uzbektourism”  and the Association of the craftsmen of Uzbekistan" Khunarmand".
As we know, this festival is organized twelfth year in a row, which in turn contributes to the preservation of cultural heritage and supporting arts and crafts.
